Semen Tests specializes in the assessment of male fertility and allows the patient to collect their own semen in the privacy of their own home and forward it to us via an overnight semen shipper that we developed. The semen sample will be evaluated by our andrology experts at the Andrology Institute of America, a reputable and internationally recognized center in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female infertility.

At Semen Tests, we will send you all the information and materials needed for you to collect the semen in the comfort of your home, and prepaid shipping to the Andrology Institute of America, where the specimen will be assessed according to standards set forth by the World Health Organization. A confidential detailed report outlining the results of your semen analysis with recommendations will be sent to you via mail. This report can be taken to your physician for further interpretation and treatment planning, if necessary, for you and your partner.

Since its introduction, the Home Semen Analysis Kit has provided a service that was not possible in the past. We, at the Andrology Institute of America (AIA), have studied various methods of semen collection and concluded that the male produces a superior semen specimen during intercourse as opposed to the masturbation method. For many years now, we have promoted the idea of collecting semen specimens via the use of a non-spermicidal condom (e.g. Male Factor Pak and Zavos Seminal Collection Device) and have repeatedly shown that this method yields better results than any other method available today, especially when it is done at the privacy of the patient's home.

In addition, the Home Semen Analysis Kit overcomes the difficulty in keeping the sperm alive for the duration of the overnight shipping. Once again, we have pioneered and incorporated this technology into the Kit, which enables sperm to survive and maintain its viability for 24hr (a maximum of 36-42hr). A medium is added to the specimen after it is produced, to protect the sperm from being damaged.

The specimen is then shipped to our location via the Bio-Tranz Overnight Semen Shipper (also included in the Home Semen Analysis Kit), where it is evaluated by a team of our experts, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. A detailed, confidential semen evaluation report is then mailed to the patient, which could be taken to his physician for further interpretation and treatment. The report not only lists the values for the various semen parameters tested, but also notes any deficiencies that may exist, along with any recommendations that our experts may offer to help you in achieving a pregnancy. The Home Semen Analysis Kit (The BioTranz™) is a unique service which allows you to identify any possible deficiencies that you may have in your semen. Those deficiencies are defined according to the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. We do check for a variety of semen parameters that are established by the WHO as predictive of one's ability to fertilize and achieve a pregnancy.

If no deficiencies are noted during your first semen analysis, we would recommend that a second semen analysis is not necessary but can be done only as an option in order to confirm the results. If your semen analysis shows minor or slight deficiencies, we would recommend that a second semen analysis be done by us to confirm the results. However, if major or more severe abnormalities are noted, then we would recommend that you consult a urologist or an infertility expert near you, in order to properly identify those deficiencies and explore various treatment options available. It is important to realize that semen parameters could vary from sample to sample, and therefore a final diagnosis cannot and should not be made about your ability to fertilize and reproduce based on only one semen sample.

The information that we generate from the semen analysis can be taken to your physician for proper interpretation and medical advice as to your reproductive status.
